Phifer SunTex Heavy-Duty Shading Fabric is a unique, heavy duty woven mesh that blocks 80-90% of the sun’s hot rays before they enter your windows and doors. It is made of strong vinyl-coated polyester fabric and is mildew and fade resistant. For maintenance, simply clean your sunscreens with mild soap and water from time to time.

This chart shows a window with Brown SunTex 80 installed. In midsummer, as much as 230 BTU’s can fall on each unprotected square foot of glass.

We decided to go with Imperial Windows and Screens to replace the aged sunscreens on our home. John Uptegrove (the owner) came to our home to give us an estimate for the sunscreens and a replacement patio door. John took his time as he explained the options available to us as well as the cost – including the estimated SRP rebate.
The screens were installed approximately 2 weeks after they were ordered and they look great and are a really nice quality. Bob the installer was very pleasant and professional and John showed up during the install to make sure everything was going smoothly. Bob left the SRP rebate paperwork with Imperial Windows and Screens portion filled out and explained exactly what needed to be done to submit the rebate forms.

SRP Shade Screen Rebate Program Details
We are an authorized SRP Shade Screen rebate contractor and a member of the Arizona Energy Council and Electric League of Arizona. If you are an SRP customer, you may qualify for an $1.00 per square foot rebate (some restrictions apply).
- Qualifying shade screens must be installed on sun-struck windows only — west, south, and east-facing windows — and block at least 80% of the solar heat gain.
- The screens must be installed on the exterior of clear glass windows that enclose an air-conditioned space.
- Applicants must be permanent SRP residential electric customers with existing homes in the Phoenix area to qualify.
- Applicants must purchase and install new or refurbished, qualifying shade screens with a licensed contractor by April 30, 2023.
