suntex-logoPhifer SunTex Heavy-Duty Shading Fabric is a unique, heavy duty woven mesh that blocks 80-90% of the sun’s hot rays before they enter your windows and doors.  It is made of strong vinyl-coated polyester fabric and is mildew and fade resistant.  For maintenance, simply clean your sunscreens with mild soap and water from time to time.

Additional benefits of Phifer SunTex shading fabric is that it is infused with Microban antimicrobial product protection and is Greenguard indoor air quality certified.  Microban protection inhibits the growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew.

Imperial Windows and Sunscreens is an authorized dealer for Phifer SunTex shading material.  We primarily use Phifer SunTex shade screen for the following four products:

How it works:

This chart shows a window with Brown SunTex 80 installed.  In midsummer, as much as 230 BTU’s can fall on each unprotected square foot of glass.

With SunTex shade screen installed, up to 90% of the sun’s heat and glare is reflected, absorbed and dissipated before it strikes the window.

A U.S. Department of Energy study indicates that shading the outside of exposed windows is the best way to stop heat build-up. Shading exposed windows with sun screens can reduce room temperatures by as much as 20 degrees!

Most commonly used on east, west or south facing covered patios, roll-down shades offer the flexibility of shade when you want it and open views when you don’t.

Many similar retail products are very affordable, however they fade badly in just a few years. Spend a little more money and get a sunscreen mesh that lasts longer, and mechanical pieces that are more reliable.

Choose from 80%, 90%, or 95% sun screen material. Roll-Down Shades are typically available in the same colors as sun screens for windows.

Windows account for up to 50% of the radiant heat that enters into your home, which costs Arizona homeowners a lot of money on air conditioning!  Sun Screens are an affordable solution because they block up to 80% or 90% of the radiant heat that beats down on your windows.  Best of all, sunscreens usually pay for themselves within one to two cooling seasons!

Utility companies estimate that installing sun screens on your home can save up to 25% to 35% on air conditioning costs (results may vary).  Reduce your cooling bill significantly by installing sun screens on your windows and patio screen doors today, and enjoy these additional benefits:

  • Help prevent UV damage to carpets, drapes, furniture, art, etc.
  • Reduce glare
  • Enable you to open your blinds more frequently
  • Excellent daytime privacy
  • Available in six frame colors (champagne, California champagne, bronze, tan, white, and mill)
  • 1” wide by 7/16” frame with internal metal corners used on majority of installations
  • Phifer SunTex mesh colors include black, brown, beige, grey, and stucco

Sliding Patio Screen Doors

Regal Patio Screen Door and Fixed Panel with Sunscreen mesh

Regal Patio Screen Door and Fixed Panel with Sunscreen mesh

Have an old patio screen door that no longer works properly? Replace it with a new, heavy-duty patio screen door custom made to make things right again.

Depending on your needs, you may choose insect mesh, sunscreen mesh, or pet screen.  Pet guards are also available.

Made of extruded aluminum, our Regal patio screen door is very strong and difficult to bend.  Most patio screen doors are constructed of roll-form aluminum, which is real easy to bend.

The four adjustable wheels also help make our Regal Door a good custom fit since most patio doors are somewhat out of square, Don’t settle for “one size fits all” replacements that seldom work.

Arizona Screen Rooms

Whether you are refurbishing or re-meshing an existing Arizona Screen Room, or wanting to convert your covered patio into a more usable outdoor living space, Imperial Windows and Sunscreens can help.

Many of our customers choose a new Arizona Screen Room to enclose their patio instead of using roll-down shades.  A new enclosure offers more comfort, ease of mind (fewer wind and tie-down issues), and overall family enjoyment.

We use aluminum siding for our kick plates, inside and outside, instead of foam boards for durability and looks (see photo gallery).  We also help you make sure that enough screen door space is included in case large furniture ever needs to be moved from inside the home.  Customers can choose from insect screen or 80% Phifer SunTex sunscreen mesh.

Installation of your new screen room enclosure is quick and easy!

If you want to enjoy the Arizona weather even more, a screened-in patio may be the answer!

We recently had Imperial install 7 new sunscreens on our house. It was a great experience and we are extremely satisfied with the screens. We can honestly feel the difference they have made. John was very helpful in explaining the process and the install was fast with no clean up. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for sunscreens.

We had SunTex 90 screens installed on every window (minus one) in our two-story home and the temperature difference was immediate. Our east facing rooms that would be unbearably hot at 8am are now comfortable and DARK! We're loving coming home to our sub 80 degree house after having the AC off all day. I also love that Imperial cares about aesthetics - none of those cheap brackets were used anywhere and the frame color is perfect.

I will say that we were surprised by how much darker the entire house is, but it's definitely not a bad thing. It's allowed us to take down our blinds and replace them with homely sheer curtains, and the rooms are still darker.

Best renovation experience I've had! John and his team are very professional and did a magnificent job. We had 14 windows and two sliding doors completely replaced, and the difference it has made is unbelievable. On top of the high quality, the cost was better than any other contractor we got estimates from. Go with Imperial Windows & Sunscreens, you won't be disappointed!
