I do my own sunscreens – but not arched windows. Our renter wanted one on a high arched window with southern exposure 6′ long and 1.5′ high. Ace Hardware and quoted $60 – but the lady seemed confused about price so that may be incorrect. And she said the company they contract with actually cuts slits into the border to make the arched border. I would have to do precise measurements, order and install.
I contacted Imperial and they indicated they had the machine to bend the border, and that the price was $90. And for $35 they would first come out to measure, and then a day or two later come back to install.
Not a bad price for two trips and a quality product that is guaranteed to fit … and last a long time.
Even tho we live in Arizona doesn’t mean we don’t experience colder weather during the winter months. Clearly one of reasons some many homes here in Arizona have Fireplaces and Fire Pits in their backyards. It does get cold here in Arizona during the winter.
This year they are predicting –
Arizona Homeowners spend a notable amount on monthly heating and cooling cost to stay comfortable in their homes. If SRP is your provider they send you regular reports showing you how much energy you are consuming. Your monthly bill has a chart showing you the last 3 years worth of information by month. Take the time to look at it and see just how much you are spending to stay comfortable in your home.
There are many things you can do to reduce that expense. The one thing you can do is inspect your current home’s window and doors to see just how drafty your home is and how well insulated they are.

A little more footage of the same home on Johnson Street in Mesa. These are custom white and vinyl windows are quite an improvement from the single pane windows that we took out. This is a window job that we are able to complete in a one day time frame. Completion can vary from house to house depending on the construction of the home and the type of the install. We were able to get quite a bit done today. Thanks for watching.
This is John with Imperial Windows and Sunscreens and we are just completing the job in Mesa Arizona. For this block home we used Ply Gem windows that are custom made and fit into the openings of the existing walls. So it’s a nice clean look. These replacement windows come with triple LoE glass, argon gas, and double strength glass. So it should help a lot with energy efficiency and soundproofing. We also carry Simonton name brand and it’s a little higher-end window. So depending on budget and such we can fit your budget and and make things work for you.
It’s that time of year once again. I am sure that we all have enjoyed the last few months of low SRP or APS bills. Well its getting colder and colder and the heater is running more and more.
Everyone wants to save as much money as they can. One way to save money on your heating & cooling bill is to eliminate any drafting windows or doors. Take the time to inspect your windows for any cracks, fogging and drafts or leaks. Check to see if they are hard to open and close. Look to see if there is any noticeable wear on the inside of the frame. See if the window is loose in any way. On the outside take a look at the caulking around the window to see if its cracking and coming loose or in anyway if poor condition etc.
Like anything else windows don’t last forever and having them replaced offers a few benefits:
The same can be said about the doors in your home. Take the time to inspect your entrance door and patio door. See if there are any drafts. Check to make sure they are still hung properly. Look for any gaps along the frame to be sure the door is actually closed all the way. See if you can move the door at all when it is closed. Inspect the inside of the frame and look for any places the door is rubbing against the door jam. Check the door seal for any wear or signs of aging Check your patio doors and see if they open and close smoothly.

Windows account for up to 50% of the radiant heat that enters into your home, which costs Arizona homeowners a lot of money on air conditioning! Sunscreens are an affordable solution because they block up to 80% or 90% of the radiant heat that beats down on your windows. Best of all, sunscreens usually pay for themselves within one to two cooling seasons!
Utility companies estimate that installing sun screens on your home can save up to 25% to 35% on air conditioning costs (results may vary). Reduce your cooling bill significantly by installing sun screens on your windows and patio screen doors today.
